Delete your Narra account

Narra, by Inkbound Studios

You can ask us to delete your Narra account and the personal data linked to it at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed. We complete deletion within 30 days of your request.

How to request deletion

  1. Email support@narraread.com from the email address you use to sign in to Narra, with the subject “Delete my Narra account”.
  2. We check the request came from the account’s own address. If it didn’t, we’ll ask you to write from that address.
  3. We delete your account and reply to confirm. This happens within 30 days of your request, usually sooner.

Email a deletion request

A Delete account option inside the Narra app is on its way with the mobile apps. You never need to reinstall the app to delete your account: an email is enough.

What we delete

  • Your password and every sign-in session (you are signed out on all devices), and your email verification and reset links.
  • Your email address and display name are removed from the account.
  • Reading preferences, taste profile, recommendations, reading progress, library, favourites and ratings.
  • Notes, bookmarks, feedback, character chats, path ideas and notification history.
  • Your profile, avatar, banner and other private images.
  • Your comments are hidden and their text is wiped (other readers’ replies stay).
  • Private stories that were never published.
  • The link between your account and our usage analytics.

What we keep, and why

Some records must be kept by law or to resolve disputes and prevent abuse (Privacy Policy, section 8). They no longer identify you:

  • Payment and Coin records, kept for legal and accounting obligations and refunds.
  • Usage and spending records, security and moderation records, and reports you filed.
  • Anonymous traces of choices you made on shared story paths, which other readers’ stories depend on.
  • Counts in our aggregate statistics, which never contained personal details.

Backups are cleared on their normal rolling schedule after that. If you have stories published publicly on Narra, we’ll contact you about them before deleting the account. Once deleted, the account can’t be restored, but you’re free to sign up again with the same email as a new reader.

Other privacy requests

You can also ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected, by emailing support@narraread.com from the address on your account. See the Privacy Policy, section 9 for all your rights.
