Terms of Service
Effective October 11, 2026
Welcome to Narra. These terms are an agreement between you and Inkbound Studios, the company that operates the Narra app and narraread.com. Where these terms speak of Narra as the party you have this agreement with, or say “we” or “us”, they mean Inkbound Studios. By creating an account or using Narra, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Narra.
1. What Narra is
Narra is a reading app for web fiction. Narra writes and continues stories for you, shaped by your reading preferences and the choices you make. Stories Narra writes are credited “Narra Original”. Some stories have shared paths, where readers pick from a few options at a choice point and the story continues down the path they chose. Narra is an early version: features may change, and stories, paths, progress or balances may be reset while we build. We’ll tell you in the app before any planned reset that affects you.
2. Who can use Narra
You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in countries whose law sets 16 as the minimum age for using online services on your own. You confirm your age when you create an account. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. Some stories include mature themes such as violence, dark subjects or romance. You can hide themes you don’t want in Settings → Content exclusions. Sexually explicit content is not offered on Narra, and content that sexualises minors is never allowed. We may ask you to confirm your age, and limit some stories by age.
3. Your account
You can sign up with your email address and a password, or with Google sign-in where it is offered. Give us accurate details, keep your password private, and tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account. One person per account; accounts can’t be sold or transferred.
4. Stories Narra writes
Narra, and the people and service providers that help write and check stories, create the stories you read on Narra. Your choices and preferences help shape a story, but they don’t make you its author or owner. Narra owns the stories it writes and the app itself, including its design, artwork, covers and names. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to read them in Narra for your own enjoyment. You may share links and short quotes, but you may not copy, republish, sell or scrape stories, or use them to build another service. Stories are fiction: any resemblance to real people or events is a coincidence.
5. Shared paths and your choices
When you make a choice on a shared path, it may shape what other readers see, and paths you start may be visible to them. We decide which choices and paths continue, and we may close, merge or remove a path at any time.
6. Your content
“Your content” is anything you add to Narra: notes in the reader, choices you propose in your own words, ratings, comments, your profile and any stories you create or publish. You keep ownership of it. You give Narra a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and use your content to run Narra, to shape stories (including stories other readers see), to keep Narra safe, and to improve how Narra writes and recommends stories. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies already part of a story other readers are reading, and backups kept for a short time. Every note is read, but not every note changes a story. Stories you publish are checked before they go public, and we may decline them with a reason.
7. Acceptable use
Be kind and use Narra fairly. Don’t: harass, threaten or bully anyone; post hate speech or content that promotes violence; post sexual content involving minors, or anything illegal; share other people’s private information; post content you don’t have the rights to; spam, scam or impersonate others; try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer Narra, get around limits or access other accounts; use bots or scripts to read, vote or collect rewards; or try to make Narra write content that breaks these rules. We may remove content and limit or close accounts that break these rules. If you see something wrong, report it in the app or email us at support@narraread.com.
8. Coins, Ores and payments
Coins and Ores are in-app balances. Coins will be sold for real money and used to unlock chapters; Ores are earned by reading and taking part. Neither has cash value, and they can’t be exchanged for money, sold or transferred, except where the law requires otherwise. Payments are not switched on yet, so nothing is charged in this version of Narra. When they are, we’ll show the price before you pay, payments will be handled by a payment provider, and these terms will be updated with full refund rules. Until then: if a chapter you paid for doesn’t unlock, we’ll restore your Coins; accidental duplicate purchases and errors on our side will be refunded; nothing in these terms takes away refund rights you have under consumer law. Free chapters, daily rewards and prices may change.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Narra at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect readers or Narra. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close Narra or your account without you breaking these terms, we’ll refund any unused Coins you paid for. Sections 4, 6, 10, 11 and 12 continue after your account ends.
10. Disclaimers
Narra is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every story or chapter will meet your expectations. Stories are fiction written for entertainment, not advice of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Narra is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost data, profits or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about Narra is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Narra’s operator is established. Please contact us first so we can try to sort out any problem informally. If we can’t, disputes will be decided by the courts of that place, unless the law where you live lets you bring a claim in your local courts. Wherever you live, you keep any protections your local consumer laws give you.
13. Changes
We may update these terms as Narra grows. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Narra after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can stop using Narra and close your account. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, with the Privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and Narra about using Narra.
